Tips: How to maintain a pneumatic valve actuator?
- The purpose of using and maintaining the pneumatic valve actuator is to prolong the service life of the valve and ensure reliable opening and closing.
- The stem thread often rubs against the stem nut, and should be lubricated with a little yellow dry oil, molybdenum disulfide or graphite powder.
- For valves that are not frequently opened and closed, the handwheel should also be rotated regularly, and lubricant should be added to the valve stem threads to prevent sticking.
- For outdoor valves, the valve stem should be protected against rain, snow, dust and rust.
- If the valve is mechanically in standby, add lubricating oil to the gearbox on time.
- Always keep the valve clean.
- Frequently inspect and maintain the integrity of other valve components. If the handwheel fixing nut falls off, it should be completely matched and cannot be used, otherwise the four sides of the upper part of the valve stem will become rounded, and the cooperation reliability will be gradually lost, or even unable to start.
- Do not rely on the valve to support other heavy objects, and do not stand on the valve.
- The valve stem, especially the threaded part, should be wiped frequently, and the lubricant contaminated by dust should be replaced with a new one, because the dust contains hard debris, which is easy to wear the thread and the surface of the valve stem, which affects the service life.
